Opportunity: Pathways to Producing 2026

Moving Art Management, in partnership with Creative Central: NCL, are excited to announce the next iteration of our training and programme Pathways to Producing.
This is a learning and development programme built around the needs and interests of the local creative sector, suitable for emerging and developing creatives, and those curious about building a career in arts producing. Workshops are free to attend, and you can sign up for the programme at the link below.

Workshops will focus on the following areas:
MARKETING & PR FOR PRODUCERS TUESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2026, 10AM-2PM, ALPHABETTI THEATRE
This session will be delivered by MAM’s core team in collaboration with arts marketeer Will Baldwin-Pask (Moving Art Management) and PR Specialist Miriam Attwood (Storytelling PR).
THE NUTS & BOLTS: BUDGETS & RISK ASSESSMENTS THURSDAY 29TH OCTOBER 2026, 10AM-2PM, ALPHABETTI THEATRE
This session will be delivered by the MAM core producing team, who collectively have more than 25 years’ experience producing across theatre, dance, classical music, and public art.
A DAY IN THE LIFE: PRODUCING ACROSS CONTEXTS FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER, 10AM-2PM, ALPHABETTI THEATRE
This session will be delivered with freelance producers Eilis McGowan (Mustard Stories, No More Nowt) & Erin Connor (Open Clasp Theatre, Northern Stage, Curious Arts) alongside balletLORENT, with support from the MAM core team.

About Creative Central Newcastle:
Creative Central NCL is a place for independent artists, creative professionals and cultural organisations to thrive in central Newcastle. Their goal is to see a city centre that is brought to life by artists and creatives, where their skills, practice and experience is a cornerstone of what makes the city attractive and unique. To do that, Creative Central NCL has received funding from the North East Combined Authority to support independent artists, creative professionals and cultural organisations in a whole range of ways from 2022 – 2027
What You Will Receive.
Three hands-on skills workshops delivered by the Moving Art Management team alongside sector specialists covering: Marketing & PR; Nuts & Bolts of Producing; Producing Across Contexts.
A new network of emerging artists and leading creative industry professionals.
Access to childcare and access support bursaries if eligible and needed.
Who We’re Looking For.
We want to hear from people who are:
Emerging artists/producers who currently make less than approx. 40% of their overall income from freelance / arts sector work
Those who aren’t currently registered as Self Employed or incorporated as a Company, and would like to action this status as part of the programme
Live in or are connected to the Creative Central Newcastle area. This must be demonstrable with up to 3 examples of recent projects in/connected to the area: please see a map of the Creative Central NCL area here - https://creativecentralncl.co.uk/map/
Recent graduates or early-career creatives (particularly ages 16-25) with a strong interest in producing and project management
Excited to learn, experiment, and gain confidence in shaping, producing and managing creative projects
From diverse backgrounds – we are particularly interested in receiving applications from working-class, disabled, neurodiverse, and global majority creatives, as well as parents and carers
No prior producing experience is necessary — just curiosity, commitment, and creativity!
When.
Programme runs: 10am-2pm on 29th September, 29th October, 13th November.
