Triple Threat part of plan to “unleash cultural creativity”.

We’re excited to be involved in a new initiative from the North East Combined Authority (North East CA) that will boost the region’s creative sector.

Last month, they announced the roll out of the Mayor’s Event and Festivals Fund – Moving Art Management will be one of 11 recipients of funding, with £30,662 to provide dance-specific mentoring and arts management training to expand the reach and national profile of some of our flagship events. We will embark on a learning partnership to develop Triple Threat, in consultation with Rob Anderson & Paul Martin and a host of expert mentors and training partners. 

The Mayor’s Events and Festivals Fund supports diverse trailblazing programmes, rooted in the region’s culture, helping event organisers develop their capacity and build crucial skills to deliver more sustainable, and impactful events that benefit residents and visitors. With recipients ranging from grassroots venues to visitor attractions, over £360k will be distributed by the North East Mayor to “unleash cultural creativity” in the region.

With this funding, Moving Art Management will take on new skills through training opportunities that can strengthen our producing offer for the North East's dance sector. We'll also be working closely with Rob Anderson, Paul Martin and the team behind Triple Threat. Following another successful event at Dance City in October, we will grow the event and introduce bigger audiences to breaking and b-boy/ b-girl / hip-hop dance cultures.

This provides a perfect opportunity to apply our newly developed skills, supported by the North East CA fund, enriching one of the region's most vibrant cultural scenes.
